About Dr. Dani
Dani is a school psychologist, educator, positive psychology practitioner, and performing artist whose work integrates psychology, education, and the healing arts. She brings a deeply humanistic, strengths-based approach to supporting children, adolescents, and the systems that serve them, with a belief that learning and well-being are most fully realized when intellectual, emotional, and creative capacities are honored together.
Dani has extensive experience working in public school settings across elementary, middle, and high school levels here in the state of Connecticut. In these roles, she provides psychoeducational assessment, consultation, and intervention, collaborating closely with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Her practice emphasizes whole-child understanding, social-emotional development, and the creation of learning environments that foster resilience, curiosity, and belonging.
In addition to her work in schools, Dani has taught at the university level, at New York University, the University of Connecticut, Southern Connecticut State University, and more, preparing future educators (school counselors and school psychologists) and mental health professionals. Her teaching integrates psychological science, applied practice, and reflective inquiry, with an emphasis on translating research into meaningful, compassionate, and usable tools. She is known for mentoring students to approach their work with both rigor and care.
As a performing artist working through music, movement, and creative expression, Dani views the arts as essential healing modalities that support regulation, connection, and self-discovery. Her background as a cellist, dancer, and visual artist informs her psychological and educational work, allowing her to incorporate embodied and creative perspectives into assessment, intervention, and teaching. This integrative lens aligns with positive psychology’s focus on strengths, vitality, and flourishing, and recognizes the arts as powerful pathways for growth and restoration. Dani is also the proud creative force behind "Sound Signals Wellness."
Across all settings, Dani’s work is grounded in collaboration, curiosity, and respect for the lived experiences of students and educators alike. She is committed to cultivating spaces where learning, creativity, and well-being intersect, supporting individuals and communities not only to succeed, but to heal and thrive.
